Age Groups: The East age groups are based on the calendar year, not the school year of the player. As such, it is the year the player is born that dictates what age group they are in.

 

Talent Identification:

 

Performance Programme:

 

The following criteria will be used as a framework to identify players for the Performance Group for that entire calendar year:

 

1.        East Squad Members: players who were a member of an East Squad (16 + 3 NTR’s) the previous year.

2.        Individual Development Programme: players whose performance within the previous years IDP warrants their inclusion.

3.        County Nominations: players whose performance within their County warrants their inclusion

4.        Wildcards – individual players nominated from an open source

Potential Programme:

 

The following criteria will be used as a framework to identify players for the Potential Group for that entire calendar year:

 

1.        Individual Development Programme: players whose performance within the previous years IDP warrants their inclusion

2.        County Nominations: players whose performance within their County warrants their inclusion

3.        Wildcards – individual players nominated from an open source

The following criteria will be used as a framework to identify players for the Start Group for that entire calendar year:

 

1.        Individual Development Programme: players whose performance within the previous years IDP warrants their inclusion

2.        County Nominations*: players whose performance within their County warrants their inclusion

3.        Wildcards* – individual players nominated from an open source

 

Verification process:

1.        The list will be sent to Counties contacts for further cross-referencing/checking.

2.        Observations at Counties Tournaments.

 

* NB: Players being nominated should be able to physically, emotionally and socially deal with a 3-day residential Camp.
