East League Rules:  New for 2009 - 2010 season

2: If a team in a joint club fails to make an overdue payment, leading to the Club being suspended, the suspension will only apply to side of the club that is in default, e.g. default by a Men's team will lead to suspension of the Club from the Men's League but not the Women's League.

3.3.2: Regular bench players in Div 2 or higher have previously been allowed play for one other team in the same weekend for match practice. The other team must now be not more than two teams lower in the club order.

4.3.1: Slip dates applicable to most seasons are now set out for the Christmas period, end of season, half-term and smaller division breaks.

4.3.3: (1) Failures to properly post home match times and venues on the website will now incur a £5 fine per match at the discretion of the League Manager.   (2) If a change in time or venue is not properly communicated and problems arise, the League Manager now has the discretion to postpone, void, or award the match.

4.4 : The previously different rules in the EWL and EML on penalties when match results or teamsheets are not provided on time or correctly are now amalgamated.  In both leagues, a first offence will now incur a warning, a second a fine, and a third a point deduction.  (This removes the last instance of the two Leagus having different rules).

4.5 : Last season there were many problems due to home teams not alerting away teams to weather cancellations, and teams travelled in vain. League Managers now have discretion to require that the home team reimburse the travel costs of the away team, or be fined £50, and/or award the match 0-3 against the home team. This should improve procedures for weather cancellations.

7.3: The more severe yellow card penalties applied in the past two seasons have not reduced the number of players with multiple cards. The Management Committee will deal with problem players, problem teams, and problem clubs in future by applying penalties as appropriate under rule 7.2. The yellow card rule is therefore now returned to: 3rd yellow card in season in league matches - 1 match suspension; 4th likewise; 5th or subsequent - two match suspension.
