Disciplinary matters relating to events on the field of play, such as player behaviour, relationships with umpires, red and yellow cards, and player bans, are the province of the England hockey disciplinary code, a copy of which can be seen in PDF format on the England web site by following the appropriate link on the left.
The disciplinary code is implemented through county administrators and regional administrators, details again available by a link on the left.
The East League's may take disciplinary measures against clubs, teams, and individuals,details of which are set out in the league rules. Such disciplinary action usually,but not exclusively, arises from incidents that are beyond the England hockey disciplinary code, for example persistent misbehaviour by individuals or teamsover a period of time.
Players receiving multiple yellow cards in the season are subject to bans from East League matches (see Rule 7.3)
Disciplinary decisions under the England Hockey Disciplinary Code or taken by umpires associations or county hockey assocaitions or by the leagues can be challenged using the East Region Appeals Procedure, accessible via a link on the left.
Clubs should note that from the 2005/6 season, there is a fast-track East League complaints system in operation for umpires to use to alert the Regional Umpires Association and the Leagues to player, team, or club misbehaviour.
