EHB Junior Competitions and JDC/JAC: 8 Feb: EHB is looking for individuals interested in sitting on these working groups responsible for the overall planning and finance, workforce recruitment and implementation, safeguarding and protection of young people, communication and review of each respective centre. The chair of each group will be selected from the members and will represent on the SSIG. Please read the attached advert to see if you have the relevant experience and if interested complete the attached form and return to bryony.bennett@englandhockey.org by 24th February.

Junior Indoor: 4 Feb: East teams fared well at the national indoor championships. In the Club competitions, Old Loughtonians won the Boys U18 and were semi-finalists in the Boys U16, whilst Havering and Harleston Magpies were semi-finalists in Girls U16 and U18 respectively. In the Schools competition Perse School beat Ipswich School in the U18 final, and Ipswich School were also runners-up in the U16 competition. Peggy Nisbet MBE: 2 Feb: An Honorary Vice President of East, Peggy Nisbet died peacefully this morning in hospital. Peggy was an active member of Essex County Hockey Association for many years, and details of her funeral will be posted on the Essex website.
ERHA Performance / Job Opportunities: 12 Jan: Please note revised application date (ignore earlier dates on documents). East is seeking to recruit a Performance Chairman, two JRPC Centre Managers, two JRPC Centre Administrators, and three Welfare Officers to complement the existing JRPC management team. It is expected that the successful candidates will be appointed with effect from February 2010 .

Varsity Match: Jan 7: The Varsity Match this year will be played on Tuesday 2 March 2010 at Southgate Hockey Club (www.southgatehc.org.uk). There is a full day's hockey starting at 09.30 for the Old Boys and Girls matches, followed by 2 schools matches, girls at 11.00 and boys at 11.30. At 12.30 there is the College Match followed at 13.30 by the WOMEN'S BLUES MATCH (Oxford v Cambs) and then at 15.30 the MEN'S BLUES MATCH (Oxford v Cambs). Entry fee: Adults £7, Students £5 and U18s free. Programme £3. Full catering and bar facilities are available at the venue.

East youth panel seeks new members: 11 Dec: The Youth Panel is a group of 14-21 year olds aiding development across the region. We’re looking for enthusiastic young people keen on hockey including umpires, leaders, coaches, players, officials or supporters who would like to make a difference to hockey. We have 4 meetings a year as well as helping organising and running the East Clubs Festival and supporting the East schools championships. Full details are here and an application form is here.
