    meeting and signed.

2.  Matters arising. There were no matters arising.

3. Correspondence. This was dealt with in the Competitions report.

4. England.  A discussion was held on the England Consultation paper on the

proposed changes to Youth Competitions 2009-2010 and the response paper

was filled in subject to the opinions of the representatives who were not there.

This is to be sent to all for checking.  Monies due to counties from England

were due to be sent out in April/May

East.  The Committee was updated with the details of the Yazoo Minis to be

held on April 26th  and April 27th .  Various entertainments have been booked

including a bouncy castle, an inflatable pitch and face painting. There will be

a welfare officer and the St. John’s ambulance. A budget of £3000 is available

some of which will help defray the pitch costs.  It is hoped that a

photographer will be available. The members of the East Office and the

Youth Panel will be there to help run the festivities. Members of RYUAG  the

Young umpires  association and their mentors will be there.

Monies for the implementation were to be sent in April/May.

   There was no umpires report.

5.  The 2nd Draft of the England calendar has the U16 and U18 Indoor proposed

Schools on the week-end of Dec 6th  and December 7th . Which competition

will run on which dates will depend on the availability of Halls. There is also

a proposal for an U16 and u18  Club competition to be run on Dec 20th  and

December 21st.  These were put forward in the Indoor Consultation paper-

responses to which are required by March 31st.  C. Farrow was to contact the

clubs to see how many would like to play as it was felt that the date was

rather near Christmas both for the players and officials.

It was felt that the Mini dates could be put on April 26th and April 27th

provided that this year’s week-end caused no problems.

Representative meetings. As there was no representative who was

a boys’ only representative the discussions were held together.

Competitions report  A competitions winners list and a report were handed

Out to all the representatives and  included some comments on the difficulties

of  providing suitable  umpires for the Indoor competitions as the Seniors were

playing at the same time. It seems as if the same will happen the coming

season. Simon Letchford had sent some suggestions about how to avoid last

season’s umpiring difficulties There was also a report on the U18 boys some of

whom did not treat the venue with respect leaving rubbish scattered about and

  playing hockey in the corridors.

The Boys schools competition had been played with schools playing the

quarter finals in their own time,.  This had led to difficulties with the last team

not being known until 2 days before the semi-finals on March 2nd.  It was also

worrying that some teams had no first aid with them, and were unable to

provide numbered shirts for their players.

Next season’s competitions were discussed and proposals put forward.  These

were to be sent to the counties for their comments before the next committee

  meeting  on May 1st .

Reports from the counties were tabled.

Cambs: Girls had hosted an East  U17 B and u13 friendly festivals. For the

county they have run U11/U9 mixed  festivals during the season  which

 emphasized participation.

Single System. JDCs will be running for u12 and u14s once a month.  U16s will

start July to September. There is a project for a double pitch on Bruton Road.

Essex:  Detailed plans for their Single System were given out starting on

April26th/27th  with the Essex Junior Development Centre. Budgets for the

Essex JDC and JAC have been submitted.  Clubs and Schools who have players

in the Essex JAC will need to be affiliated to the County Association.

Herts Girls:  Queenswood came 3rd in both the U14 and U18 girls’ National

 Schools Championship.

Herts Boys: The trials for the U15, U16 and U17 county teams are on March

 16th.  The Mini U11 and U13 competition is on March 9th .

JDC and JAC locations have been decided and coach recruitment has begun.

 Kent: No report

Lincs: Some complaints that some teams had to go too far for their matches

were tabled with a request for nearer matches.  However, for finals days we do

not yet have sufficient pitches in the middle of the region to avoid this.  It

seems that this may be rectified in the future with the proposed pitches in

  Cambs.

Norfolk: Norfolk’s Single system is to run 1 JAC for U12-U17  from Jul-Dec

 2008, 4 JDC’s from Jan-Jun 2009, 4 JDC’s from Jul –Jun 2009 with 1 JAC

from Jan-Jul 2010 for U12-U16 .  There may have a problem with finding

sufficient Level 2 coaches for the JAC.

Suffolk: More schools had entered the Boys schools competition and Suffolk is

thinking of a plate competition next year.

.

The next meeting is on Thursday May 1st at the University Sports ground.

The meeting closed at 9.20pm
