meeting and signed.
2. Matters arising. It was confirmed that there would be a Men’s and a
Women’s U21 tournament on April 22nd 2007. Suffolk and Herts girls
still had to reply.
The Chair had contacted the Chair of the Performance Committee about the
selection used for the East squads but had received no response as yet. Again
the members of the Committee re-iterated the need for a clear pathway for
players. It was also hoped that at Culford next year there would be some
input from an outside coach. The Chair of the Performance Committee is due
to retire in July, 2007 and his successor has been named as Micheline Bloch.
3. Correspondence: Essex agreed to apologise to Suffolk for a complaint
which on investigation had seemed to have no foundation.
4. Reports:
East. The East are running the Women’s County Championship next year on
June 2nd and 3rd 2007. Clubs will put forward their names to run this.
Presentation day will be at Newmarket also on 3rd June,2007.
There had been 490 player and 38 coaches involved in the Culford
Camps. Next year’s dates for theses are August 3rd – August 31st 2007.

Child Welfare officer would be appointed.
There were no reports from England and the East Umpires.
Girls’ Reps Meeting
The U16/U17 Friendly one day tournament had been much enjoyed by all with
Essex winning and Kent were runners-up. Thanks go to Sally Tippen for
organising it and Margaret McCall for acting as TD.
Budget The proposed budget was handed out and those present were in
agreement with counties paying two thirds shortly and one third in April when
all the expenses had been finalised.
Reports ;
Suffolk wished to know how other counties ran their schools competitions. A
discussion on this followed.
Herts reported that their U12 development would be starting in December.
Cambs reported that their new development officer is working hard to promote
hockey in Cambs having set up coaching at two centres and run a Leadership
course.
Boys Reps Meeting
The budget proposals were looked and the increase in costs for the indoor
noted. It was agreed to pay them as last year with two thirds being paid shortly
and the rest when the expenses had been finalised.
The Boys Competitions had been running smoothly and results had been
posted on the web-site.
Following requests from interested schools it was agreed to hold the Boys
Schools Finals at Felsted school and Braintree Leisure Centre. The draw was
then held. The preliminaries would be as follows:
U14 Section A Suffolk 1, Herts, Beds, Essex.
Section B Suffolk 2 Cambs, Norfolk, Lincs

Section B Suffolk 2, Lincs, Essex, Norfolk

Reports
Cambs U21 coach had been put in place and the U15 Championship team had
been very successful so far.
Essex The development Officer , Jo Davey had completed her term of office.
Lincs was hopeful of entering next year’s U17 Competition. The Mini dates had been set. Umpiring is going well with 6 young umpires having been assessed and now Level 1 and 14 others who have passed the theory paper.
Suffolk had appreciated the U14 competition being later and had queries about ages for the Mini Competition in 2008.
The next Committee meeting is on February 8th 2007.
Thanks were expressed to Sally Tippen and the Cambs Tennis and Hockey club for the use of their Club house for the meeting.
The meeting finished at 8.30pm.
