1.                 MINUTES

Minutes accepted and signed as a true record by the Chair.

Two amendments under 1

Delete umpires in umpires handbook

Daug should read Doug.

 

2.                 MATTERS ARISING

S.T. asked the age for young umpires for competitions.

It was agreed that a questionnaire would be issues for next seasons managers/coaches for feedback on competitions – otherwise for this year LB welcomed comments and would speak to coaches/managers at finals days as she would or Fiona would be attending many. Also County reps to get feedback.

 

3.                 EAST/ENGLAND

LB distributed Power Point from EH recent roadshow on Long Term Development of young players. There are further workshops coming up one at Quy Mill and one at Bromley and Beckenham HC. There is to be a reduction in competitions.

 

4.                 UMPIRES

No report  tabled – points to be raised at girls meeting.

 

5.                 FINANCE REPORT – As tabled.

 

 

 

6.                 RULE CHANGES FOR 2006 – 7 SEASON

Non attendance at fixtures (East Inter counties league)

If a team cannot attend a fixture but will then attend at other league fixtures the teams who should be playing these matches will be awarded a 3 - 0 win.

 

If a team withdraws after playing a fixture the East Inter County league all results against that team will be null and void.

 

If two teams tie for the top of the league the result between those two teams is taken into account first followed by goal difference, goals scored etc.

 

If three teams tie for top of league goal difference is taken into account first.

 

GIRLS REPORT

 

1.                 MATTERS ARISING

Can F.W. please check the results from The Leys school for U14 girls.

 

2.                 NEXT SEASON

Look to holding a weekend tournament for U15 and another for U17 plus a friendly league (Double pitch venue needed for weekend if both U15/U17 at same venue).

 

Most counties having U13, U14, U15, U17 A & B.

 

Lincs – 1 day (2events) of U16 tournaments to keep home involved. Should it be a purely U16 team or U17B players – feedback at next meeting.

 

Lincs will run U19 tournament in April – entries to Andy Ricketts.

 

Request for us not to use non club venues for finals days. Meeting agreed that in on ideal world this is what is desired.

 

3.                 REPORTS

Cambs - Tabled – Umpires very pleased with U21.

Essex – Tabled } Thanks to Sally Tippen for U21 organisation

Kent –Tabled    }

 

Lincs – Thanks to ST for U21. Want to do U19. Running academy this year at Lincoln and Louth. 6 x 1½ sessions - £1,500 given to fund.

Louth (with S Yorks) Lincoln (with Notts.) Peterborough (with Cambs)

For U11, U12 and U13) possibly.

Suffolk – Tabled.

Norfolk – discussion on letter from J. Lee Smith. LB to write re meetings feelings on points (attached)

 

4.                 AOB

Colours – we need to have first choice playing colours as the norm. Only second colours if a problem -  to inform other teams/TD before event.

F.W. to issue colours with fixture info next season.

 

U21

1.                 Apologies to Barry Barr – did not realise he came to TD U21 tournament. U19 Girls tournament during Easter hols – info from A. Ricketts.

U16 May Day Bank Hols weekend at Lincoln University (on the Sunday). Info from Andy Ricketts.

 

BOYS REPORT

 

1.                 Financial Report – tabled.

Competitions Secretary Report – tabled.

 

2.                 REPORTS FROM COACHES

Beds – some young umpires not suitable for key matches – selection needs to be carefully considered – big step up from club to County U17 especially need to be able to deal with aerial balls.

Where should Haileybury reports go to if not a county player. Agreed that the information should be sent to the schools/clubs.

 

 

Cambs – Broken trophy for U12 festival. LB to investigate – agreed entry fee to cover cost of replacement.

Herts – tabled report.

 

Suffolk – tabled report.

         

 

3.                 SEASON 2006-7

Concerns over clash of dates with East training – must try to avoid them 2006 -7

 

Have coaches been appointed yet – we need dates for next meeting from performance group. LB to find out names, dates and venues to be informed.
