1.   Minutes of previous meeting.

Confirmed. There were no issues arising.

2.   League structure and organisation
      It was noted that Cambridge Uni was at the bottom of EHL 2.

  1. 2005/6 Season Preliminaries: 

3.1        Player Registration in Premier Divisions.  Content with system. No problems.

3.2        Information re venues and times completed satisfactorily except Ramgaria.

3.3        There is confusion regarding umpires membership to the County HUA’s. Coordination necessary between counties and clubs.

3.4        Handbook distribution went well.  Small problem with league contacts page.

3.5    Many clubs have failed to give their captains details to lge managers as per Rule 8.1.  TW to be advised of those outstanding.

  1. Finance

4.1.      TW dealing with outstanding fines Approx  £1000.

4.2.      League Share of Handbook costs will be around £1400.  £400 more than last year.

 

5              Major Playing Issues.

5.1        EWL.  Concern expressed over hospitality particularly clubs with no clubhouse.  Essex umpires had refused to umpire a match under floodlights. This was a concern for the men too.

5.2        Ramgaria v Letchworth.   The umpires report was discussed at length and both teams have been warned of their future conduct. Umpires have been asked to monitor future behaviour of both clubs.

5.3        Maldon 3’s v Upminster 3’s.  Maldon had strengthened their team with 2 1st XI players.  It was decided to award the match to Upminster 3-0.

5.4    League Withdrawals.    Old Southendians 6th, Bury St Edmunds 6th, Watton 2’s,Old De Ferrians 3’s and Horncastle 3’s.

5.5    Wapping 6th’s have come into the league.

5.6   Struggling teams at the moment are Witham 4,Old Southendians 5,Crostyx 3,and Uni of Essex 2

5.6    EWL and EML teams in Indoor must try to rearrange their matches before Christmas but some clubs have had difficulties. It was reported that Lowestoft players were helping    out IES but Lowestoft club could not seek postponements.

 

6         Umpiring.

4           6.1.    A complaint form for umpires was discussed and SM agreed to bring it up at the umpires meeting in December.

7         Discipline.

7.1   Cards so far this season EWL: 20 yellows. (I for a coach).   EML: 268 yellows, 7 reds, 4 players with 3 yellows 1 match suspension.  Overall slightly down on last year

8         Rule Changes 2006/7.

8.1        Clubs required to have 2 L1? PL1 umpires per team.  SM to check progress with CHUA’s at umpires meeting in December.

9              Presentation Day & AGM 2006.

Nothing to report.

     10          East Management.

RN reported that County Presidents had been invited to Management Meetings.  David Faulkener  EHA Performance Director was coming to Cambridge to give a presentation. CF in charge.

      11          AOB.

Essex umpires had refused to officiate a game starting under floodlights. Umpires not consistent across the region.

New Server in operation on the website. Will cost less.
